It talks about the island, its people, its houses and its architecture soaring high up on the rock, amid the greenery, flowers, citrus trees and fragrances of the Mediterranean. It was 1380, when Capri’s first perfume was created within the walls of the San Giacomo charterhouse -- a fragrance in which the water, and the island’s most beautiful flowers met almost by chance. It was from this alchemy, dedicated to the sovereign Giovanna d’Angiò, that Carthusia originated in 1948.
